JOB TITLE: Product & Market Analyst
JOB DUTIES: Oversee textile product development, logistics, and procurement with Chinese factories (overseas vendors/suppliers). Specific duties include:
Gather detailed data and up-to-date information from industry recognized magazines, news, and trade shows in China and US and use this information together with feedbacks from US customers and analysis on competitors to develop new products.
Work with Chinese designers to decide the designs, functions, and patterns of the new products.
Collect quotes regarding the costs of the raw materials and production costs from various Chinese factories to manufacture the products. Request samples from potential Chinese factories. Project the costs for the new products – collect raw material and production costs and estimate the shipping and storage fees.
Research on new products – find similar products in China and US and compare prices and qualities. Analyze current market situation in both China and US to project market price for the new products. Obtain price quoting from existing US clients with the help of the sales team.
Prepare detailed profit and cost analysis in Excel using the new products’ costs and prices data collected and projection of future sales trend and volumes in China and US for the new products.
Summarize the product research results with detailed analysis and graphs and tables for illustration in Chinese Mandarin and present the findings in Chinese to senior management.
Manage product development and production specifications with Chinese manufacturers. Coordinate sampling process and production schedules. Negotiate manufacturing costs with Chinese factories. Source new vendors. Oversee the purchase and import of home linen products from China for wholesale and retail.
Compare and negotiate product prices with Chinese factories. Track and coordinate the import of products from China. Respond to questions and inquiries from overseas suppliers, and customers through oral and written communications in both Chinese and English.
Oversee inventory control – calculate inventory turnover ratios and allocate the inventories properly to save space, money, and time using Excel models. Work with V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, charts and graphs in Microsoft Excel.
JOB REQUIREMENT: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing or a related field plus 2 years of experience. Foreign degree equivalent is acceptable. Chinese (Mandarin) proficiency is a must. Experience to include working with V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, charts and graphs in Microsoft Excel.
HOURS: 40 hours per week, M-F, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
